Can you offer Bruce a new home?
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Age: 3 years 1 month.
Time with us: 5 weeks.
The transformation we have seen in Bruce has been remarkable and he is now ready to take the big leap to find his new home. When Bruce arrived he had been living as a stray for a while and had lost his trust in people massively. We could tell their was a friendly boy under the defensive façade but for a while he definitely chose 'fight' over 'flight'.
Bruce also had a nasty eye infection which we discovered was due to a condition called Entropion, where the eyelid turns inwards meaning his eyelashes were constantly rubbing on his eyeball causing massive irritation and discomfort. The only option for Bruce was to have surgery and now he is like a new cat! He no longer paces frantically looking for an escape route and instead spends his time out rolling around playfully and enjoys lots of catnip! He'll happily approach for a fuss and has even started to hop onto our laps and snuggle up purring and padding, which is so adorable. He would be happy to stay there all day!
Bruce will probably take a little while to settle into a new home, so we are looking for someone who is willing to go at his pace. Seeing how he has flourished here, we are confident he will become such a wonderful cat to have around.
Bruce is looking for an adult only home and would need an owner who is prepared to go through the motions with Bruce in case he reverts back to how he was when he first came into the shelter. Being a stray we have no background history for Bruce, but since being with us he seems very chilled around other cats and could possibly be rehomed with a laid back cat who can help show him the ropes.'
