Can you offer Ozzy a new home?
Breed: Labrador Retriever
Age: 3 years 5 months.
Time with us: 8 weeks.
Mr Handsome Pants Ozzy is now on the lookout for his forever home! Ozzy arrived due to a marriage break up and he was too much for his owner as she had a young baby.
It has taken Ozzy a while to settle in with us, he can be incredibly nervous around people he doesn't know, and he has been known to snap in the past.
Ozzy is very affectionate and biddable with the kennel staff, and is eager to please. He will need a calm, adult only home where he will have the time to settle at his own pace. He has a lot of nervous energy, which to the untrained eye, comes across as his being boisterous and silly, when he is actually feeling very insecure about life.
He will need continued socialisation and training - he does pull on the lead but is steadily learning how to walk properly. Being a true Lab, he loves water and his tennis ball, and his ball works well with his training- as well as treats!
We feel Ozzy MAY be able to live with an older female dog in his new home, but he would equally be happy being the only dog.
Experience with nervous dogs is a must, and people who won't put too much pressure on him.'
