Volunteering

Covid update:
We have missed our volunteers greatly and can happily announce that we are now in a position to welcome back existing dog walkers and cat cuddlers! If you have previously volunteered with us, please do get in touch on 01283 569165 to arrange coming back.

Sadly we are still not able to accept new volunteers due to the process involved and we also still need to limit the amount of people on site. Apologies for the inconvenience but please do keep an eye on here for updates. We hope to see you all soon!

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the animal home and we couldn’t operate without them. There are multiple ways in which you could help by giving a little of your time to us whenever you can.

To become a volunteer, you would firstly need to fill out an application form (To see these forms, please go to the Volunteering drop down menu). Once you’ve applied, you may be invited to attend an induction morning. Here, we will take you through the safety, talk about the animal home and give you the tips for best practice when dealing with the animals. Once you’ve completed this and you’re still interested in joining us, you just need to go away and complete some online health and safety before you start.

The roles include, but are not limited to;

  • Dog Walking
  • Cat Socialising
  • Animal Care Assistant
  • Grounds Maintenance
  • Fundraising/events assistant
  • Charity shop Assistant

Aged 16-18??

Most voluntary roles are for over 18s but we can accept volunteers aged 16-18 with parental consent. You can either download our application form and get a parent/guardian to sign or fill out online and upload your letter of consent.
